DeSoto texas real estate

DeSoto
DeSoto is one of the older settlements in the North Texas area. The first families settled in DeSoto in 1847, just 11 years after Texas had gained independence from Mexico. It was also in 1847 that the first homes in the area were built. The first settlers in the area had arrived from Indiana and sought to make a new life in a new land. That was the beginning for the town of DeSoto.

After a major growth spurt due to the end of WWII, DeSoto applied for and was accepted for incorporation. They became an incorporated city on March 3rd, 1949. DeSoto was proud to recently celebrate their 50th anniversary in 1999.

Despite its small and community country feel, DeSoto is a very community active city. There is much to do in the community, including cultural activities. DeSoto has a strong relationship in the arts and hosts a community theatre in the Town Center.
