Farmersville texas real estate

Farmersville
Farmersville became a town that was formed in 1849. Originally just a settlement near the Republic of Texas National Road, it took awhile to get started. Around 1854 the neighbors, from Sugar Hill, began moving into the area. Dr. H.M. Markham, the county's earliest physician was said to begin practicing in Farmersville around 1855. The town was later incorporated on June 2nd, 1873.

In 1930 Farmersville was coined as the Onion Capital of North Texas. The town ships over 1,000 carloads of onions annually. Other exports include: cattle, cotton, and maize.

History is a very important part of the area. The Farmersville Times and the First National Bank are two businesses that are still running and have been active in the community since the 1880's. Farmersville also recently added a monument honoring their fallen veterans as a small measure of thanks and pride in their dedication.

Farmersville is about 35 miles from Dallas, and has proven to be a great place to live for many residents. The area is big enough to provide everything you could need and yet small enough to retain the charm in a small community.
